This Friday, July 15, 2016, parents and volunteers are requested to join in this week's Clean-Up Day. The activity will start at 8:00 am and will last up to 10:30 am. In particular, Grade 7 parent-volunteers are expected to come for this event in line with the Grade 7 NAT exams which will be held for that day.
Specific areas that require attention for cleaning include the spaces behind all the buildings, the 4th floor of the Computer Building, and the Botanical Garden located beside the Bordner Building. The clean-up drive is an important component of the DOH-DepEd 4S framework against dengue. The 4s stands for "Search and destroy" (mosquito breeding places), "Seek early consultation", "Self-protection measures" and "Say 'no' to indiscriminate fogging".
The fight against dengue can be won with the cooperation of everyone concerned -- parents, students, teachers and the school administration. With a target of at least 10 parent-volunteers per section, the clean-up activity will go a long way in removing the breeding grounds for mosquitoes within the campus and help in promoting overall cleanliness and health.
